As part of the 125th Jubilee Year Celebrations of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Perambur, a special Vicariate-level event titled “Annaiyin Muthukkale” was organized on 26th October 2025 at the Lourdes Shrine, Perambur. The main objective of the programme was to foster and deepen Marian devotion among the catechism children of the Perambur Vicariate, encouraging them to grow in faith and love for the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The celebration witnessed the enthusiastic participation of twelve parishes, bringing together nearly four hundred catechism children and volunteers. The event was marked by a spirit of prayer, joy, and fellowship as children from various parishes gathered to honour Our Blessed Mother through their talents and devotion.
A variety of competitions were conducted to engage the participants and help them express their faith creatively. The events included the Marian Quiz, Fancy Dress, Recitation, Drawing, Group Singing, and Group Dance. Each competition highlighted different aspects of Marian devotion and allowed the children to showcase their gifts in a joyful and faith-filled manner.
Lunch and evening refreshments were provided to all participants and volunteers, fostering a warm sense of community and togetherness.
In the announcement of the overall competition results, St. Joseph’s Church, Erukkanchery was proudly declared the First Place winner. Their vibrant participation, disciplined teamwork, and heartfelt devotion to Our Blessed Mother set a beautiful example for all. This achievement brought great pride to their parish and encouraged others to follow with renewed zeal and faith.
The programme concluded with the distribution of prizes, certificates, and mementos to acknowledge the efforts and enthusiasm of all who took part.
The event was a memorable expression of Marian devotion, unity, and youthful enthusiasm. It served as a meaningful reminder of Our Lady’s maternal care and an inspiration to nurture Marian spirituality among the younger generation. “Annaiyin Muthukkale” truly marked a fitting celebration in the Jubilee Year of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Perambur.
